Deborah Adler Myers
General Manager and EVP, SCIENCE

Deborah Myers
Debbie Myers is executive vice president and general manager of SCIENCE, heading the programming, marketing, and communications for the network. Since assuming GM duties, Myers has guided SCIENCE to significant ratings success and strong business growth.
Under Myers’ direction, SCIENCE has become the creative playground for the thought provocateur, the imaginative geniuses who are unafraid to ask the killer questions and look closer at the world around them. The network has become home to the brilliant minds of Morgan Freeman, Ridley Scott, Steven Spielberg, Ricky Gervais, Dr. Michio Kaku, Dr. Brian Cox and Kari Byron – all who share a passion for the exploring the unknown. Guided by curiosity, SCIENCE features a 24-hour programming slate with content that truly goes beyond imagination. SCIENCE currently reaches more than 68 million U.S. households and is available in HD and internationally.
Over the past two years, Myers has launched 20 new series, including Through the Wormhole with Academy Award-winner Morgan Freeman, Wonders of the Solar System with Brian Cox, Oddities, Sci-Fi Science: Physics of the Impossible with Michio Kaku, and most recently An Idiot Abroad with Ricky Gervais. In April 2011, Myers led the network’s rebrand from “Science Channel” which incorporated a bold new on-air look and a dynamic new logo, nicknamed “Morph.”
SCIENCE delivered its best year ever for prime and total day ratings in 2011 and the network currently enjoys a streak of 13 consecutive quarters of year-over-year ratings growth. SCIENCE also won its first-ever George Foster Peabody award in 2011 for Wonders of the Solar System.
Myers joined Discovery Communications in June 2005 and served as VP of production and later as SVP of production & development at TLC where she oversaw over 500 hours of programming including the creation of signature series: Little People, Big World, Shalom in the Home, Take Home Chef, LA Ink, Say Yes to the Dress, as well as continuing series including What Not to Wear, Miami Ink and the Emmy © award-winning Baby Story.
Later, as Head of Programming for the Discovery’s Emerging Networks, Myers led the successful launch and first 18 months of Investigation Discovery – the fastest growing network in cable. She chaired the launch of 12 series with a 75% success rate including On the Case with Paula Zhan, Disappeared, Wicked Attraction, Deadly Women, and I Almost Got Away With It.
Prior to joining Discovery, Myers ran her own production company, Aha! Entertainment, where she created series for NBC, Paramount, VH-1, and 20th Television. Myers was also instrumental in launching several cable networks, including E! Entertainment and Oxygen. She served for eight years as vice president of Programming and Development at E!, where she created and ran 17 signature series, including the Emmy Award-winning Talk Soup with Greg Kinnear and E! News. Myers is the former Governor of the Production Executives group of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.
Myers is currently a member of the Board of Advisors for NASA, and a member of the TED SETI advisory board. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Telecommunications and Film, minors in Drama and Public Relations from San Diego State University.
