Ruth McDonald

Ruth McDonald has been a K-12 educator for 33 years in California and Oregon. As a classroom teacher for 28 years, Ruth taught high school and elementary school Special Education, 5th grade and 7th grade math and science. In 2007-208, Ruth served as an Albert Einstein Distinguished Educator Fellow at the National Science Foundation, Office of International Science and Engineering. Since her return to Lincoln County School District she has been a district-wide resource teacher, coordinating community partnerships with universities, non-profits, businesses and government agencies focusing on ocean and aquatic sciences. She is currently the project director for a 3 year U.S. Ed Math Science Partnership grant and has helped start the first SCOUT level MATE ROV competition in Oregon. Ruth has a BA in Psychology from UCLA and an MS in Curriculum and Instruction from Portland State University.
