Carol O’Donnell, Ed.D.
Carol O’Donnell, Ed.D., as Director of the SSEC, is responsible for all operational activities and planning; building awareness for P-12 science education reform; conducting programs supporting professional growth of P-12 teachers and school leaders; and, overseeing research, curricular resource development, philanthropic development, and administration. Dr. O’Donnell has expertise in education policy, professional development, cognition, student learning, curriculum development, and education research. Dr. O’Donnell earned her B.S.Ed. from the University of Pittsburgh, her M.S. in Geosciences from Mississippi State, and her Ed.D. focusing on science education from George Washington University (GWU). Dr. O’Donnell began as a K-8 teacher and is still in the classroom on the faculty of GWU’s Physics Department.
