Elzandi Oosthuizen is vice president of global strategy at Monsanto Co., where she leads several teams in analyzing current and future trends and technology advances in the food and agriculture industry to inform expansion of the company’s global operations.
During her 12-year career with Monsanto, Oosthuizen has held a variety of roles including working for our vegetable seed business. Prior to her current role, she led the U.S. Row Crops division in Iowa and was responsible for delivering the division’s volume and revenue goals while executing Monsanto’s multi-brand strategy to grow market share and increase profitability in key agricultural markets.
In addition to her work for Monsanto, Oosthuizen is passionate about empowering women and promoting peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all. She demonstrates this passion through her involvement in several initiatives, including Monsanto’s Supplier Diversity Mentoring Program, United Way, Kingdom House St. Louis and Global Give Back Circle Mentors. She was named a YWCA Leader in the Workplace in 2012 and participates in the Next Gen Fortune Most Powerful Women conferences.
Oosthuizen holds a Bachelor of Science in Natural Science and Mathematics and a Bachelor of Science Honors in Genetics from the University of Pretoria. She also holds a Master of Science in Agricultural and Horticultural Plant Breeding from University of the Free State and an MBA from North-West University in South Africa.
