Gabriela Gamiz is the founding director of the Office of Community Engagement at Harvey Mudd College (HMC). Gamiz works along side HMC students and faculty as well as community members to support, develop and implement various STE(A)M educational programs for their K-12 educators and students. Some of their K-12 programs include Homework Hotline, Middle Years Computer Science (MyCS); IMMERSION (mathematical modeling for elementary students); Science Bus; STEAM:Coders; Reading Enrichment STEM Program; Robotics and Mathematics mentoring and tournaments. Their local school district personnel (staff and teachers) share their expertise and are an integral voice in making all these programs possible.
