Janelle Curtis is the Director of Programs and Development at the AUVSI Foundation where she is focused on RoboNation, the robotics community that inspires youth to pursue academic and professional careers in unmanned and autonomous systems through experiential learning. RoboNation programs include fully autonomous air, marine and ground competitions like RoboSub and RobotX and STEM programs SeaPerch and SeaGlide. Prior to joining the AUVSI Foundation, Curtis was the VP of Programs at the Biotechnology Institute where she managed several K-12, post-doc and workforce training initiatives to promote STEM education in biotech and life sciences. Curtis graduated from the University of Colorado with a degree in biochemistry. Her formal science education provided a solid technical foundation on which she has built a breadth of experience and knowledge in bioscience, engineering and STEM education. Curtis and her rocket science husband reside with their family in sunny southern California where you will find them enjoying the outdoors, for work and play.
