Jessica Howard serves as the STEAM Program Director of the Californians Dedicated to Education (CDE) Foundation. She leads the CDE Foundation’s suite of STEAM initiatives, including strategic planning, partnerships, and programs such as the annual California STEAM Symposium that brings together over 3000 STEAM educators for inspiring, hands-on, and rigorous professional learning. Howard also helms the California Alliance for Next Generation Science Standards (CA4NGSS), a coalition of over 60 science advocacy organizations working together to improve communication and implementation of CA NGSS.
Prior to joining the CDE Foundation, Howard worked in higher education as an undergraduate admissions officer at the University of Southern California and as a Congressional district staff member. She holds a M.S.Ed. in Education Policy from the University of Pennsylvania and a B.A. in Art History from Williams College. Based in Los Angeles, Howard also volunteers with several non-profits in the Southern California region to support equity in expanded student services, STEAM education, and college access.
