A seasoned global affairs expert with a deep passion for corporate socially responsibility (CSR), Eric Westphal is responsible for helping to enhance and protect Cognizant’s corporate brand and reputation through programs that drive measurable social change and business value. This includes leading strategic investments in workforce hiring and training programs, broadening the scope and investment in various corporate affairs programs, and working closely with the company’s communications and government relations teams to bring life to these significant initiatives. Additionally, Westphal works closely with the Chief Operating Officer and other senior leaders in maintaining relationships with key business leaders internally and externally, connecting teams across Cognizant’s global enterprise in the development of strategic projects.

Westphal previously served as the COO for the legal and corporate affairs business unit, where he was responsible for the day-to-day operating activities of the legal and corporate affairs business unit. This included business planning, forecasting, budgeting, productivity improvement, knowledge & risk management, and strategic initiatives. Additionally, Westphal served as the Deputy Chief of Staff to the CEO of Cognizant, acting as an advisor, proxy, and “second set of hands,” establishing and implementing processes to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the CEO agenda.

Westphal earned his bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Providence College and his M.B.A. from Fordham University with a focus on Leadership and Management.
